Huskmilk Pottery is a small, home-based studio in Atlanta, GA specializing in wheel thrown, hand carved vessels. My favorite pieces to make, hand-carved bud vases, are tactile, one-of-a-kind creations, with the goal of being timeless and irresistible. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu's patisserie program, my culinary training provided a foundation in timing and precision that I apply to my ceramics today. While skill and artistry are essential to making a beautiful pot, above all, the piece must be authentic.
The finished product takes several weeks to make, and is fired to Cone 6 in an electric kiln. This, of course, is after wedging, throwing on a potter's wheel, drying, trimming, carving, drying some more, bisque firing, sanding, rinsing, waxing, glazing, drying again and finally glaze firing to 2232F. Quite frankly, it's a lot of fun.
I hope you enjoy my work, and if I am lucky enough to land a piece in your home, I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
